It is the obligation, an owner of Greek land turtles (usually also of other Arten), this at the higher nature protection authority (in our case: the district administration Freiburg)zu announce! Often this certificate is also "Cites" called. When fill out the appropriate papers the ladies and gentlemen of the office are gladly helpful. Sense is it to document all turtles in private property and create a marketing permission. So everyone, which wants to acquire a turtle, can get surely occupied that it concerns to a breeding out of Germany (Europe).
Who acquires turtles without papers must know that these are concerned in illegal way!
Since 2000 it is necessary to make Fotos from the Tortue (yearly under 500 g and once in 5 years over 500 g) to demonstrate the developing of this animal. For making visible a added meter makes authority. Here you can see such documentation:

For each animal its own certificate is issued and the authority is much to it interests specific features to document. For a good hobby photographer with appropriate equipment it may not be a problem, good "Passbilder" to get its animals. We were unfortunately not so experienced and had to be able to make it something else. Before now however all society for the prevention of cruelty to animals get a shock, I would like to point out that really no animal took damage (with nevertheless approx. 20 boys in the letzen years). Yes, we put the Turtlebabies on the duplicator and made a copy from above and one from down ! Afterwards we could manufacture as many as desired deductions without having to trouble an animal. The Copien served outstanding to designate the animals to be able and within shortest time everything hold apart in such a way to study in rest. by a possible sales the paper always remains with the turtle, like a passport, and again the new owner is obligates the animal at his nature protection authority to announce. They should indicate the pass by dealing on to their office.

It is meaningful to give the babies names or numbers because there is in such a way some that one has to note in the course of the time to the individual animal. A weight-Document is most important, because there are only few more things, by which one can detect promptly whether it goes the turtles well. A constant increase of weight and size are a prerequisite. One should do however the good one also not too much, weigh once weekly with babies and once monthly and measures with the larger turtles is enough perfectly. It is natural that diseases, physician attendance and medicines should be documented. In addition, personally, how favourite foods, Fressverhalten, Agressivitaet etc. are it to be worth noted one forgets unfortunately much too fast! Thus one gets a whole with the time Legend on the animals and with an owner change there is this to report much and helps the turtles in any case.
