Our Florida red check turtles - Chrysemys scripta elegans!

They were as large as a piece of 5-DM coin, cost however 7 DM. Ralph was not allowed to own dogs or cats with itself at home because of the rental law, we bought equivalent 3 turtles. The zoo dealer sold to the plastic basin still an aquarium heater to us and wish us much luck. We created the basin nicely with roots and stones and put the animals into. Since we had also Terrarien and fodder animals had to anyway always catch, also the turtles get insects, earthworms etc. In addition, got them raw chop and sausages .
After 10 years however the animal room was used as children's room and we looked around for a good workstation for our turtles In the opinion that they would have it well, we brought them to the aquarium association into the Mundenhof (little zoo in Freiburg). Our frightening was large, when we saw a few weeks later after them. They divided with an already quite passablen adult crocodile the habitat. Several people had at that time probably the idea with the Mundenhof, because many turtles were quite in the basin. Almost everything had scratches and bites of the crocodile. When we had our garden pond already some years, we got a little turtle given. Minni, was the animal of a boy, who different Hobbies had. But in next spring she was again to the place. Three years we enjoyed her much, but then the sex impulse was to great and she probably began to go off. Twice we got them back and although we make things to make the area save, succeeded it the escape. Nothing is more badly, as if you do not know, what from an animal became. Is she a victim of an accident. Did she find away in the next lake or garden pond ?
